Treasure hunt

1. How have mobile phones changed in the last 30 years?

- First Generation or 1G, were introduced to the public market in 1983 by the Motorola Company. These first mobile phones used analog technology which was much less reliable than the digital technology we use today.

Second Generation, or 2G technology. In 1990, the first cell phone call was made using the new digital technology that became characteristic of this era. The Second Generation cellular phone technology was faster and much quieter than its analog predecessor. As a result, it became even more popular than previous models, too. The new technology also made them capable of being smaller rather than the large briefcase-sized units from the 1980s.

Third Generation technology, or 3G, is what many people currently use in their digital cellular phones today. This new technology is not only capable of transferring voice data (such as a phone call), but it is also able to transfer other types of data, including emails, information and instant messages.

You would think that there is little more that you could do with cellular phone technology. This is, however, not the case. There are currently plans in place to develop a Fourth Generation – 4G – technology.

2. Can you find 5 different ways young people use mobile phones?

- Young people use mobile phones to do lots of things. The first way that the young people use the mobile phones is to call their friends and girlfriends or boyfriendas. Another way can be to send a text message (personaly I prefer that way to communicate because is less expensive than calling). The others ways that a mobile phone can be use for are:

-Take photos

-Make videos

-Listen to music

-Web service

-Play videogames

Young people should use the mobile only to call and send text message.

3. Are mobile phones used in the same way in different cultures? Give two examples.

- All mobile phones have the same principal functions like calling and sending messages. But these days they are very modern and they can do lots of news things like have a camera and play very good quality games. This sort of functions make some cultures use the mobile phone in different ways. For example Assian people uses the mobile phone to play games all the day because they love games, including card games.Arabian people is starting to use the mobile phone to listen their prays, this way can pray while going by car and they also don't need to go to the mezkita.

4. Do mobile phones affect your privacy?

- In my opinion mobile phones affect privacy people in a very common way. This type of privacy violation is a normal thing in these days. I want to mean that when someone is sending a text message to another person and this message contains privet information about both person live. This information can be seen by another person but only if this person take the mobile phone. In conclusion mobile phones don't really affect our privacy unless our mobile phone is stolen or lost.
